Everyone says GOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!
Bob and Mimi are watching from sunny CA.
Send pictures as soon as you can.
I’m so happy for you all! Someone PLEASE take care of my big brother Gord Mackay, because he is helpless, reckless and useless at setting limits for himself. He is good at building things and fixing things though, so if you need any emergency shelters made out of trees, he can whip one up in a few hours.
Love and kisses Gordie, from your baby sister.
p.s. and WHY did you not invite me to do this with you? Hmm?
To Ken and Carole Bailey.
Want to show our support to our good friends, (which we just happen to share a grandson with) and wish you the best as you adventure out on the first day. Our friends just found out about it (they have 7 snowmobiles) and would have gone…too short of notice for them. Way too short of notice for us! We need 14 years to prepare for a trip like that! I could do one day with one years notice…maybe.

Four thousand miles on snowmobiles?! You people are totally insane…and down right inspiring. Satellite tracking says you all made it to your first destination, hopefully with no speeding tickets, lol. Lookin’ forward to seein’ the photo and video uploads, but just try to watch the middle fingers, profanity laced tyrades, and full moon conjuring night caps if ya know what I mean. But I wish everyone the best…including a good supply of Vicodin for the trip home, which you people will have MORE than earned. God bless everybody, and I’m proud as hell of ya, dad.
Grandpa, Dave Low, Hope you had a wonderful first day out on the trails! I thought about you a lot today. I am praying for your safety (and the rest of the teams out there!). Enjoy the beautiful scenery 🙂 Love you! Lauren
My comments are “awaiting moderation” for over a day, can someone help me figure out why they aren’t posting?

your transponder is not working very good unless it is left in the chase vehicle. the only signal was when you arrived in Ishpeming and it is still in Ishpeming @ 10 am this morning.
I would think if it is in the vehicle you would see the route it has traveled.
Tom’s is working great and I am following it.
Have a great day!!
Randy
Dave Upthegrove, congradulations, eh! Going 4000 miles, 20 days. You must have taken one electrical poke that wasn’t required. Anyway have a great trip and I will be following your boondoggle. What sled are you riding,eh?

Hi Ed,
Did you hold hands crossing the highway cause it looks dangerous hehe…hope you had a great day sledding…I’m tracking you
Hi Grandpa!Hope your having an awesome trip!I love you so much and I wish you all the luck possible!
Don Lipinski Sr., it’s easier to track you on this trip everyday with the Satellite Tracking vs. your daily routine around West Michigan. Your office will make you carry that thing everywhere. We won’t need it this summer because we all know where you will be, 5-40 miles West of Grand Haven getting some fishing lines wet. Hope all is well in your journey. I am following you daily and am looking forward to hearing your stories from your Adventure. Stay safe and good luck.
Kelly
Hi Dad!!
Just saw that I could send you a message on here! That is going to be fun to do!! Hope your first few days are going well. I have decided to map your quest with my 2nd graders for fun. I’m going to go buy a map tomorrow and start this week. I know they will get a kick out of it. Send pictures when you can so that I can share them with my class (& I would LOVE to see them too).
Safe travels!
Love you!
Deanna
Hi. Banana.. We just got in. Our leader was confused and we went 25 miles out of our way.. Oh.well.. 25 miles is an extra hour.. but it was fun following 28 sleds in the darkness… It was really neat watching the red tail lights winding through the trails…. Your class project will be fun… good idea…. Thanks for the note…. Love Dad
Hi Ralph Gordon and Team 6: Where were you today? We could not find you on the map. Hope all is well. Everyone is cheering for you. We did see Tom. Have a restfull evening and we’ll look for you tomorrow.
Hi Sandy,
Thinking about you every day.
Venus
Joe Palombo: So far, so good. You are all very courageous to undertake such a great adventure as you raise awareness for Diabetes! Have a safe journey as you continue on! We’re all thinking of you daily, with love!
Message for David Low, Group 1 Team 2

Good to see Ed’s transponder is working now! I can see the three of you, not sure who’s in the chase vehicle!
Who is winning the snoring competition at night? I bet it gets noisy after three long days on the trails. Glad to see the brake downs are minimal.
To the computer guy,
Look forward to the daily updates
Thanks, keep up the great work
Betty and Gary Randall,
I got your message, by phone. I live 1.5 mile west of Marion. I now know you are in Winterfield Township. I hope to meet you both when you get back.
Cameron Cullin didn’t go, I hear. I tried to call him , and got no answer. I am guessing he was one of the riders that had his sled stolen.
Cameron is related to my youpee neighbor near Munising.
Carston Seales

Hi Baileys, Kenny Carole and Steve:
I see everything seems to be going pretty good!! We read the up dates every night. I bet Steve does not like those slippery, snowy roads. Sounds like you have had some loooong days on the trails. Love to Mark from Diane, kids and grandkids. We will have a house full for Brooke’s birthbash on saturday and we will be sure to check on you.
Dave Low: Looks like you are in N.Dakota close to Canadian border for the night. Sounds like locating the trail is a major challenge as well as keeping everyone going in the same direction. Alaska is NW of where you are, so just go in that direction and you will be fine. Pack an extra sandwich keep on truck’in! 🙂

Dad kept a book of Psalms with him during his time overseas, so while you are away here’s a quote for you to remember: ” If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea even there Your hand will guide me, Your right hand will hold me fast”. Hi Uncle Dave,
I guess I didn’t know you could do this. Our week with your wife went really well. I made a hair appointment for her to see Debbie and she was very pleased with her hair. We then went to OTB where Josh works and had dinner with Jessica. Kind of a girls night I guess.
We have been staying close to home other than that outing. She is coming back home on Wednesday and we will move back in….We kind of miss her!
Oh yea we miss you too, hope you are having a great time.
Uncle Dave, that other uncle of mine is trying to stir up some trouble, we only had 30 or 40 over for supper so far and you have plenty left in the fridge. Good Luck see you when you get back, Ps I would rub it into them Canadians about the hockey though, its only been since 1960 since we beat them the last time in the Olympics. We play them again in a week so you better hurry Jeff

Young Chevrolet Cadillac-Owosso
Saw you guys when you rode through Ironwood, Michigan a week ago. Have been following your progress and enjoying your updates. Husband and I agree that while your group probably has more challenges scouting the trail, you probably also have the most fun. I think he wishes he was riding with you, even though it would mean missing weeks of ice fishing. After reading about miles of ditch-riding, I think I’d really enjoy riding in the chase vehicle. ;0)
We’ve a special interest in you guys, since, in addition to being old sledheads, we’ve ridden motorcycles from MI to Alaska and Northwest Territories a few times. Husband rode the muddy Top of the World “highway” in the pouring rain around 20 years ago. Hopefully, you folks will enjoy that stretch a whole lot more than he did.
Stay safe and have fun, all of you. Husband says you should pull together and sell a DVD when you’re done.
Bernie in Bergland, MI
Hi Ralph and team 6: Your videos are amazing! It looks like you had a great day. It is 10 a.m. in Saskatchewan and your transponder isn’t recording. Did you get to sleep in this morning? We had lots of snow here last night. Take care. Have fun and I’ll check in on you later this afternoon.
Uncle Dave, that other uncle of mine is trying to stir up some trouble, we only had 30 or 40 over for supper so far and you have plenty left in the fridge. Really appreciate the helmet cam so we can watch “the movie”. Hi John (Group 1,Team 7)
Just wanted to say that I’m really impressed with the progress you all are making. It looks like you have been leading the pack. I want to watch the videos but have been having trouble getting them work for some reason.
I hope you are having a great time and aren’t getting to beat up on the trail. Take lots of pictures along the way.
What an accomplishment this will be! What’s next on the bucket list? Ha ha
Take care and have fun! See you at the lake when you get home.

Looks like you are making great time. Lots of beautiful scenery. Hopefully no more below zero days, I don’t think thats going to happen.
Hope everything goes well, you are doing great.
Greg.
Ron Corbett and Dave Upthegrove
Ron: We were wondering when we would hear of you visiting the dinghy weeds. Since you usually manage this on the first or second day out, we are surprised it took you so long. Maybe the camera didn’t catch you, eh?
Dave: Since we haven’t heard any different, believe big blue must be humming right along.
Hope both of you are having a good ride. The scenery looks beautiful.
Hi Ralph: I’m enjoying those chocolates these days. I didn’t see a transponder signal today so I’m hoping your machine isn’t one that needs fixed. If it is maybe you’ll be going to St. Paul Alberta. Big black Tom is still coming to visit. Take care, look after yourself and have fun.
Wish they had had this ride 10 yrs. ago, I’d been with you. Ron, I know the feeling in the bushes been there. enjoy every day John
Hi Gord:
Now I am dealing with a skunk. I think there is as much wild life right here. It has been cold.

What do you mean you’re running out of snow? I’m so sick of snow. Was snowed in all day Monday (2/22) Finally got the deck cleaned off Tuesday, it was really heavy so took all day, for Pix and then it started snowing again Tuesday night and has been snowing all day again today. So back to cleaning off a little spot for her AGAIN. I guess we’re suppose to get snow through Sunday (2/28) Hoping I can get out and clear off s little spot for Pix tomorrow. Have been tracking you and watching the videos. They are great! Happy there haven’t been too many mishaps. I take it your sled has been doing great. Have to tell you, I was playing one of the videos that you talked on and of course Pixie could hear your voice, so she was barking and looking all over for you. At first I couldn’t figure out what she was barking at, but every time she heard you she’d run into the office, bark and run out to the back door to see if you were coming in. She did this throughout the video. So she misses you also, I asked you to call me in my message to you on the 22, and I still need to speak with you, if at all possible, before your get home. Really glad that everyone is doing okay and enjoying themselves. Hope it isn’t too cold.
Remember to Keep Smiling, Take Care and Be Safe.
As Ever,
Betty and Pix

Wishing everyone a good night’s rest and great start as you head off again tomorrow.
To BETTY RANDALL,
To BETTY RANDALL,
I hope all is well with you 2. I worry you know! Sounds like “ditch banging” is a little hard on the ol’ bones! We are OK here, my Mom is in Florida. The girls and Jim are all fine. Saw Dee today, it’s Wednesday!! Please stay safe, must be 1/2 way by now aye? I’m a map printing maniac. ENJOY,
Karla
Hi Girlfriend,
It was so good to hear from you. We feel like we are on survivor cause at dinner we get our mail from home. We are all doing good but we have ran out of snow today. We had to trailer from Cold Lake, Alberta to Athabasca cause there is not enough snow to ride. Tomorrow things are looking better. We have a lake and a river to ride on for 150 miles then back to ditch banging. I’m actually getting pretty good at it. The weather here is 35 degrees today and the sun is shinning – NOT what we want. We are having the time of our lives. Miss everyone back home but the time is going fast. We have a little over 2,000 miles on our sleds and that many or more to go. Thanks for everything……….Betty

Dear Betty,
I recently found out you are the person that used to serve Harry Swank, me, and my wife Brenda, those great Betty Burgers, when we rode our sleds to Leota.
I admire all of you for taking on this amazing ride. I’ll have to admit, that I don’t think I could do it. I have 12,550 miles on my 06 Apex, but I still couldn’t do 4,000 miles in a month.
Good luck, and be safe,
Carston Seales

Hi Gordy,
Tough sports choices these days. Trying to follow the Olympics and you and your colleagues on your Olympic journey.
I guess the difference is that in your Olympics there are no losers only winners including the sledders, the people you meet and the kids you are benefiting throught the diabetes association.
Good luck as you push fowrd to that gold medal presentation in Anchorage. And, here’s my bet of a cold one on Team Canada over the USA in men’s hockey.
Debt to be paid on your boat or mine this summer.
Good luck!
C & B

Hey Baileys, Kenny Carole and Steve:
What the heck happened tonite?? I seen on the web page that three teams needed HELP!!! It said someone shredded a track, damn the bad luck… It also said that they need a support truck because you ran out of snow on the lake….. Hope everyone made it in safely tonite… Will keep the whole group one in our prayers for a safe trip, including the support trucks….We are all fine in Boyne City. Devin was suposse to go to Dearborn tomorrow for a volley ball tournament (she’s in a traveling league) but we got snow today with the wind blowing about a hundred miles an hour. They aren’t going, not after the last trip down and the black ice accident!!! Take care ride safe and stay warm!! Miss you guys!!!!!
Hi Dad!
Where are you? It’s been so easy to follow you, but today your satellite is not on. Hope it wasn’t broken yesterday when you rolled your sled… ha. Now that sounds like something I would do!
To my sweet Billy Buns, I have been keeping track of your travels, looks like all is going pretty well. Thanks for my sweet letter, it arrived right before you left. I am looking forward to seeing you when you get back, and to hear all about the trip. Maybe I will make us some more of thoes shortbread cookies that we enjoyed so much at Christmas. You remain my sweet Billy Buns and I will always be “your Bunny”. Love @ kisses

Hi Mom (Betty), Dad(George) and Pete –
It was great to talk to you today. Don’t get discouraged about the snow. What you are doing is so amazing and you need to remember that. You are so lucky to be able to see such beautiful country side and spend time with each other. Enjoy it. Remember Pattullo’s are problem solvers. Figure out a way to make it work. Snow or no snow you keep people focused on whats most important.
I sent you all a picture of your new grand baby. She is so beautiful. I can’t wait for her to smile for you. We are so proud of you all. I can’t wait to tell her all about your adventure when she grows up.
Love you.
Cory, Skylar, Bella and Julianne
Hey Big Eddie
How’s it going? Hopefully great! We have been tracking you…just like Big Brother. Be safe and keep that beard warm.
Take care and stay away from the Polar Bears!
Hey Baileys!!!
Bummer!! No snow in Canada!! Go figure!! Sorry we missed your call tonite. We went to a big game dinner, had ostrich, kinda tough but good. Had bear, wild turkey, white fish sausage, moose, venison chili, venison stew, and elk!!! Went over and seen Logan and the girls today. Logan was awake the whole time we were there. He is already holding his head up and looking around…. You sounded bummed out on the answering machine tonite. I think you all need to do a snow dance. I did one for you guys on Wed. nite. It was 35 here today…. You all take care, and when you ride again, ride safe. Miss you guys!!!
Feb 27 Saturday night –
Quite the adventures these days for you. Bet nobody would have guessed lack of snow issues where you are!
Keeping the prayers going for safety for all – no more sled tipping or rolling!
As you are looking for the right path, this Scripture quote will serve you well: “Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, “This is the way, walk in it””. IS 30:21 (I think snowmobiling it still applies)
Remember to check the no-fail GPS.
Canada vs. USA in GOLD medal game tomorrow afternoon. Should be exciting! Go Canada Go!

Kenny, Carole, nd Steve:
We loved your video, the song was perfect. We have all been there, done that!! Remember when Wayne use to take us bahaing?? To me that was more fun going on the seasonal roads. The U.P. is fun to because we have all the fire trails to ride on. We might be going to the cabin in Newberry the week-end of March 12th. Woody, Penny, and Cowboy and Rita might go.Sure hope you guys can find some snow pretty soon!! I love Rex’s blogs!! Tell him he is awesome!!! Sorry to read in his blog that some of the group has headed back home!!! I know it’s got to be pretty disheartening to go all that way and not have enough snow to finish the trip of a life time!!! If you do find snow ride safe and we miss all of you!!!!!

Good morning Ralph! Hope you are enjoying your tour! Hey Doug,
Looks like you’re having a great time. What an adventure you must be having. Sure wish I was riding with you guys. Couldn’t believe it when I heard you where going. I definetly want to see those pictures and hear about the trip over a beer. Have fun with that new sled and don’t forget “ride it like you stoled it” it makes it more exciting more exciting.
Talk to you later
Looked for you in the pool, D. Greene, but no show…what’s with that? Believe Dallas is cooler in the eve than the Yukon, think eh? Lots of good wishes from the Big D. Scruff and All
Grp1/Tm2/ D.Low: Sure wish we had hot springs here! It is sunny today and temps. are suppose to climb to 48 next week. The birds have been singing here for a few days now.

Sure looks like some great photo opps. Hats off to the folks doing the “reporting” and videos, very nice!
Have fun at Dawson.
Yo, dad! Send us an email update on your progress. We were all lookin’ forward to hearing your glorified version of the trip, not the boring details and set backs. You gotta at least give us one (an email) the night before you ride into Tok, and one the night you do. We want yer thoughts and feelings, old man! It was your idea and you’re almost at the finish line. Speech! Speech! Speech!
GRANDPA!!!!! How are you? Are you at the finish line? Are you having fun? Were there any dangerous mountains you had to ride across? What animals have you seen? Were there any pretty mountains you saw? What were the hotels you stayed at called? Is Canada pretty? Did you collect any gooold in the Yukon? Did you see any wolves, or foxes? I am very very proud that you are helping all the people with diabetes, just like me,dad, and Vivian helped the Hatians. I love you SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much.
Group 1 Team 6
Hey Ralph and crew

Glad to hear you all made it to the Yukon safe and sound.
The hot springs looked like a blast to be in! What a refreshing way to relax after all the miles on the trails. Another experience you will all never forget! and it’s just out there in the middle of nowhere in the snow. Amazing!
Ralph, Uncle Al would be so proud of you doing this run for diabetes. As you know he dealt many years with it, and I am equally as proud!
Hope you all have another great day!

Hey Sandy,
I heard you had a rough night last night. I hope not to rough. Scott says to enjoy the riding because the snow is melting here. You might be able to go up on the hill for a little while but its melting fast there too.
You must be soooo excited. So close yet so far. We are thinking of you.
Bryan says have fun and he can still beat you. LOL
Love you
Scott, Kelli, Bryan and Justin

BIIL BRADFIELD Thanks for planning such an awesome adventure I’ve been following all 3 groups. It really is an adventure, I’m so proud to say my husband ,Jack, from Group 2, is a part of. Continue the ride will still be following.
Nancy Postema
Hi Ralph, so you have a cold and 88 is on the pole! 2 wrongs don’t make a right! Enjoy your trip talk to ya soon!
Group 1 Team 6
Hey Ralph and crew
I just watched the summary video of day 18. Wow, nothing like going from no snow to too much snow. You all must be exhausted from having the sleds stuck and having to keep pulling them out, but I’m glad to see you all made it to your next destination safely.
Hope you have a good rest so you’re prepared to the next part of the trail!
You are all living the dream!
Hey Big Edward…
It looks like you are definitely on the last leg of your wild adventure. Its great you guys found snow again. When you get to your final destination you will have to break out your “Speedo” and go for a dip to celebrate. Take care and we hope you have lots of pictures. Everyone here wishes you all the best and be safe!
Hi Papa,

Yes we have arrived and had a good time. I had a cold for a few days but am in good shape now. We spent the day here in Dawson City on a poker ride up in the mountains they had a hot dog roast for us on the trail. I have the honor of riding my snowmobile on the Youkon and Klondike rivers never thought I would be able to say that. We are going on another ride tomorrow to the top of the Dome here you have a 380 degree view they say. Does not look like we will be able to ride across the Artic Circule with the sleds to far away with the snow conditions. Poorest year they have ever had with no snow. Mon. we leave for Tok will spent two days there then back to Dawson City for the night then head for home.
Love to all
Dave
hi sandy

Hi Gord. I have remembered Betty and Dave in my prayers and trust they are feeling a little bit better each day. We were so sorry to hear of the accidents, but thank God they are on the mend.
Understand your trip back to Dawson today will be a tad challenging with the weather and conditions.
Prayers are (have been) with you.
– safe, safe journey home – and to all.

Got your e-mail at about 1:30 this morning. Hope the trip back to Dawson wasn’t too bad….. How are the injured riders doing?….. WE will keep praying for their speedy recovery…. You said you were packing up and heading back to Michigan, and would be back in about a week!!! Can’t wait to see all of you. Are you stopping at your place in “Wolvertucky” first?? Nik has been home all week, Liss took him back to the doctor Wednesdsay and he has a double ear infection and his bronchitis has now turned into pnuemonia!!! He is on a breathing machine every 4 hours. He is also on augmentum, and cough syrup with codeine!!! I have had him all week, and he has drank tons of fluids, but just can’t seem to shake it Have a safe trip back…..

Hey Ralph and crew
Congratulations to all of you! Have a safe trip home!
To Dave Greene fans who followed him throughout this once-in-a-lifetime event, he arrived home safely after Delta Air put him through more hoops than Mishcanska! Guess you cannot fly from Whitehorse via Vancouver, and Minneapolis, then on to MBS, Saginaw, without hitting Detroit. Its all a dream, so here come the recitations, and rememberences now turned humorous and poignant. He’ll relive it forever. Thanks.
Hi all, the Bailey’s, Ken, Carole& Steve are home safe and sound in Clarkston. Thank you, Bill for this great trip. And to Pete for all the video work. Can’t wait for the next trip!!!
Group 1 team 6 have all arrived safely back to their homes. We are now looking at their pictures and hearing their stories.
